Directly accessing the Downloads folder

Reader Charles Bilkin is unsatisfied with a Safari feature, he writes:

When I used Safari running under Tiger, my downloads would go to the Desktop. Now that I’m using Leopard, they go into the Downloads folder. I know that my Desktop is cleaner now, but I don’t like having to open my Downloads folder whenever I want to get a file I’ve downloaded. Is there some way to turn this off?

Troubleshooting .Mac iCal syncing

Reader Turner Kellogg is unhappy with .Mac’s inability to sync his calendars. He writes:

For some reason I’m no longer able to sync iCal with .Mac on my home computer. When I try, I get a warning that tells me I have inconsistent data. I thought inconsistent data was the whole point of syncing! I’ve tried resetting the calendar in my .Mac preferences several times with no luck. I’ve also unregistered my Mac and then reregistered it to see if that would help. The next time I sync I get the same thing even though I have it set to replace the data on my computer with what’s on .Mac.

Thank you for your helpful article about iDisk. Where do I find the .sparsebundle file to delete?

Beatrix*Jar is a Minneapolis based non-traditional electronic sound art duo formed in March 2005 by Bianca Pettis (Beatrix) and Jacob Aaron Roske (JAR).
Beatrix*Jar is inspired by modern electronic music, visual arts, experimental sound artist John Cage and the Fluxus movement.
At home in an art gallery or a night club, Beatrix*Jar uses fuzzy electronic beats, samples circuit bent machines and their own indeterminate sound-scapes to create a unique and euphoric sonic collage.
In addition to creating music, the pair offers circuit bending workshops at home or on tour to share their appreciation for non-traditional instruments and sound.

Exhale

from ” The Day the Earth Stood Still”

OK!

You can breathe now.

MacWorld Expo 2008 is history and the air is electric…sort of. Are we excited by the new product announcements presented by Steve Jobs? Sort of.

Apple certainly is a stylish company. Who could dispute its dominance in digital fashion design? (Have you noticed, despite Apple’s minority status in the marketplace, the near ubiquitous presence of Macs and i-Things on the most haute of the couture advertising sets?) Don’t you feel proud owning the coolest of the coolest electronic accoutrement of the times?
