Andy Taylor, CEO and primary developer of Dictate presents uses of speech recognition software for productivity and disability accessibility. MacSpeech Dictate for the Macintosh uses the underlying technology of Dragon NaturallySpeaking from Nuance Communications, Inc.. top seller for PC users. It supercedes its predecessor iListen in features and accuracy.

According to the reviews this product is easy to use and very accurate for dictation (close to 100% with short training). It also allows you to use Mac navigation and voice to launch apps and execute menu commands.

Most folks haven’t thought about using a speech-to-text product but this may be a reason to consider it for every day business and personal productivity.  You speak and it types. Imagine that!  Read a personal review by Atty Victor Medina and a detailed review by David Girard.
Girard’s by-line… “A long time coming”.  I’ll say!

Note: Enter the UH campus from the East West Center gate on Dole St.. Turn left at the parking kiosk and park or turn left at the end of the road. Krauss Hall is the one story building Koko Head of the large banyan trees. Parking is $3 and allowed in any stalls unless designated as handicap.
